Las Vegas 55 Plus Retirement Communities

One day I decided to see what kind of Las Vegas 55 plus retirement communities were available that met my retirement budget for new homes.  I did not want to live close to Las Vegas for obvious reasons, but yet, I still wanted to make a reasonable drive to sample "metropolitan activities".  I chose to head North since I had heard that I could find what I was searching for in active adult retirement communities.

Since I am retired military, I decided to check out Shea Homes at Ardiente because of its close location to Nellis Air Force Base.  There I could take advantage of the on base commissary for groceries and household goods.  Driving into this luxurious Nevada retirement community, I quickly realized that Ardiente is the perfect location - far enough away from The Strip, yet close enough to get to when needed.  This master-planned retirement community is immaculate and offers all the amenities you would expect from master home builder Shea Homes.

I headed straight for the model homes to take the tour.  I was greeted with a very friendly salesperson who was very astute as to my concerns and what Ardiente could offer in new home buying.  These homes are simply spectacular for 55 plus retirement communities.  They range in size from 1200 to 2400 square feet and start in the low 100K range.  I was impressed that all the homes are "Shea Green Certified", meaning that they are super enviromentally friendly.  Also, as you tour these homes, you are impressed with how they are built - only brand name fixtures are installed and the floor plans come in all sizes and shapes.

Shea Homes at Ardiente is truly impressive; and if you like being close to Las Vegas and avail yourself of gorgeous desert-mountain landscapes, then drive to Ardiente and tour the model homes.

Olympia 55 Plus Retirement Communities

Little known for it's active adult retirement and 55plus retirement communities, the Olympia, Washington area should be considered because of "retirement affordability".  Of course, the weather might not be as warm as Arizona, Florida, or California retirement destinations; however, the winters are mild and there's plenty of rainfall - lush, green forests and mountains making Olympia an excellent retirement enviroment for activeadults. There are many cultural activities which is one reason why this town is a popular home for Washington 55 plus retirement communities. There are plenty of open spaces and beautiful parklands. Olympia National Park is perfect for hiking and other activities. The presence of Puget Sound should appeal to sailors and fishermen.

Ten minutes outside Olympia and located in scenic Lacy, Washington, is Shea Homes Jubilee - this award winning master planned Washington retirement community offers affordable new homes, rich amenities, and proximity to major metropolitan cities. This is an age-restricted neighborhood located within the larger Hawks Prairie community. The community is situated near preserved forest space, yet is close to several local shopping centers and only a couple of miles from Puget Sound. Shea Homes at Jubilee enjoys both an abundance of natural beauty and all the world class dining, shopping, and cultural attractions available in the surrounding cities.

Championship golf and a 26,000 sq. ft. clubhouse known as "The Lodge" incorporates all the amenities required of luxurious Washington 55 plus retirement communities.  Add this to affordable homes built by master home builder Shea Homes and active adults should consider this retirement community as one of the best in the nation.
